Alejandro
Hi, I wanted to ask whether it is safe to have on my PC, Immunet Protect alone, or is it better to have it together with another antivirus? Greetings.
ritchie58
The best first step to safeguard your PC is have a firewall in place and running. Weather it be the operating system or a third party firewall. Immunet Protect Plus can be used as a stand alone antivirus solution. If your using the free version I would recommend an additional antivirus program to run along side of Immunet as this will give you an added measure of protection. You can find a list of compatible software here.
Alejandro
Thank you very much. and firewall, I recommend to use?
ritchie58
That depends a lot on what type of operating system your using. I'm going to assume you use Windows. If you have XP or Vista I would recommend a third party firewall as the OS firewalls for these have much to be desired. For Windows 7 the operating system firewall is considered to be adequate for the average home user and is more configurable than the previous versions. I'm a Windows 7 user but still use Comodo Internet Security as my firewall because of the extra features it provides but that's my own personal choice. I do highly recommend Comodo's Firewall. It is one of the best free firewalls available. Leak tests and user reviews prove that. If you do decide to use Comodo install just the Firewall and Defense+ components if you already have Antivirus protection in place. Also running two firewalls is not recommended as this can lead to unexpected behavior so if you install Comodo Firewall make sure you turn your operating system firewall off. You can download the 32 bit version (if you have a 64 bit system I can provide you with a different link for that) of Comodo Internet Security here. ritchie58
I use Panda Cloud Antivirus Pro 1.4 along with the free version of Immunet Protect and have not experienced any compatibility issues. I did put Panda's and Immunet's program files in their respective exclusion lists to help avoid any possible future conflicts just to be on the safe side however.
