dallas7
Got the alert for 3.0.0.18 on my XPsp3/32 systems and both updated Clam 2.0.19.8 Free without issue. Good job! Glad to see the Immunet tray icon again. Note: ClamAV Detection Engine setting was OFF by default. FYI: I had been running the betas with AVG 2011 Free. Now that this is non-beta I have also added Malwarebytes Pro (protection module enabled) and Zemana Antilogger. Tho it's only been about 8 hours, no issues even when downloading bad guy executables and exploits from the malware sites with Sandboxie'd Firefox. (Above average system configuration skills are required for that setup. Otherwise, stick to Immunet Plus or an approved AV suite and Immunet Free.) Please (!) answer: What is the purpose of the "toast notification" window upon startup of iptray.exe? While not featureless as it was with the original 2.0.19.8 drh.dll, it is still void of any data. I have been closing it manually but will it eventually close itself? Cheers!

Hey Dallas, I had assumed that the full Clam engine w/ archive support on and the other full engines from Malwarebytes would cause some small lag. We will have to benchmark the basic startup and exec costs (raymond.cc style) soon. As for the pop-up, do you have verbose on? I cannot repro it on my systems but I do not run verbose, I keep thinking to remove it.. I cannot repro your issue but it sounds like a bug. al

I'm glad the upgrade worked well for you. I'm unable to reproduce the blank toast message that you are getting. We fixed the IE6 issue, but for some reason you're getting one at the beginning void of text. Unfortunately it will not close until you manually close it. Please send me your diagnostics file and I'll pass it onto the developers to see how best to resolve this issue. Thanks, --Millard
Shaoran
This 3.0.0.18 is the final version ? I notice that it take something like 3 times more space in ram than 2.0.17.31 (50 MB before, 150 after). Hopefully lot of this space is put into swap but it's an huge space. dallas7
Hi Al, Millard: thanks for the quick response. Since I often go for weeks without rebooting my systems, that window isn't a deal breaker. I can X it closed and it's not affecting interoperability or functionality once done so. Millard, I'll send you the diag file attached to an email but unless you see users streaming in about this issue I think time is better spent over there excepting that this might be of importance. Like time spent on a standard and persistent location for files so one doesn't need to edit or create new firewall and HIPS rules and inter-application exceptions every time an important upgrade bumps up the version metric. But you are keeping me up close and personal with my stuff. BTW, I forgot to mention that Update Now still returns a red text server error for the product (not definitions) upon first use. No problems thereafter. Yes, I do monitor (problem-free) lag when MBAM Pro and Immunet Free are checking each other out and vying for attention upon realtime scanning of new files. Things get much snappier and very well behaved after adding the file mbamservice.exe to Immunet's Protection Exclusions and the path C:\Program Files\ClamAV for Windows to MBAM's Ignore List. While I do context-menu scans of small numbers of files on occasion, I don't do whole system/media on-demand scans so I can't vouch for those settings in that respect. Cheers. What engines do you have enabled? If you have both ClamAV and Tetra turned on, then the memory usage is quite high due to both loading traditional signatures in memory. If you shut off both, you should be back down to a small footprint again, but lose some protection. I only run Tetra and SPERO on my laptop with 2GB of memory, but run all engines on my desktop with 8GB of memory. The other thing is that defs are usually much higher on initial load, but will go down gradually and possibly again after the first scan (I'd suggest a Flash scan). --Millard
mokito
may I know why wasn't this release localized (translated)? considering the work required and the time since the last post on the translations topic (i think it was in December i guess....) thanks in advance... PS: I've experienced some performance issues.. maybe performance degradation but that could be because of jdownloader working in the background.. I've got to get the language rebuilding re-enable again and then we can start kicking off builds. I'll put them up on the translation topic for everyone to use while I'm testing them. Also, Mo mentioned some new strings. Those will be mentioned there as soon as he posts them. --Millard

Sounds like you are running Tetra & Clam. Our docs are updated today, before we ship tomorrow, and we will be suggesting that you do not run both together (unless you are OK w/ the space/RAM being consumed). Having said that, you should not be running at 150 consistently at all but only when you are either initializing the engines or when perhaps scanning with both engines. al
