ThunderZ0N3
Can I run Immunet 3.0 + CLAMav, with PANDA CLOUD 1.4 without any problems? Both Free editions. Panda Cloud has a Web Blocker too now, but I don't know if it will interfere with Immunet..
ritchie58
I use Panda Cloud Pro with Immunet Free and from my experience I have encountered a start up issue with the ClamAV engine turned on. I believe this is caused by both AV's trying to retrieve definitions from their respective databases at the same time causing a slowdown of apps loading during start up. With the ClamAV turned off everything loads just fine. With my roomy's XP Pro 32 bit machine the System Tray icon for Panda won't even populate with the ClamAV turned on although Panda's processes are running. He has decided not to use the ClamAV engine at all. However that's not to say you still can't use the ClamAV engine. How I resolved this issue was by turning off the Allow Definitions Update feature in the Settings which is for the ClamAV only. I then manually turn off ClamAV prior to shutdown and then back on at start up when everything else has finished loading. Once the ClamAV is turned back on I check for updates manually. It takes a few extra clicks of the mouse doing it this way but the reward is a quicker, hassle free start up time and the extra antivirus protection that the ClamAV engine is going to provide. Perhaps with the free version of Panda Cloud you might not encounter any slowdown or conflicts during start up but if you do, try going the route I just described or just leave it off and turn it on and update just for scanning purposes. Also I have put Panda's program files into Immunet's Exclusion List as a precaution for any future possible conflicts. I opted out of Panda's browser protection feature (I hate extra tool bars on my screen) but I don't think that should interfere with Immunet. I hope you find this information useful ThunderZON3. ritchie58
That's entirely up to you. You can turn it on and off at start up and shut down like I do or you could leave it off and just turn on Clam and update when it's time to run a scan. First why not install both if you haven't already and try to use the Clam engine turned on and the auto update on too to see if you get any type of conflicting behavior. If so then try one of the other options. Let me know how it goes. Good luck ThunderZON3, ritchie58...
