ritchie58
So far I haven't encountered any slowdown with Firefox while using the plug-in. It did install an icon in the navigation toolbar which is no problem for me since that is one of the few toolbars that I use. I did run into a minor glitch with this however. If you click on the icon and then click on "Test Protection" it takes you to the G-Data web site where I couldn't exit out of the site. Other than that it seems to work ok. That's funny. I just tried it again and was able to exit out of the site with no problem so I guess it's working like it should.
sweidre
Thanks Boombastik, I have installed G Data both in IE 32-bit & Firefox. I also got into my Slimbrowser. The test worked properly in FF, but in IE 32-bit & Slimbrowser the test lead to G Data homepage. I hope, G Data will be useful, anyhow! (IE 64-bit did not accept it!) You said, that G Data works like a charm, but for me it has not yet been tested in reality! Cheers, sweidre

Alejandro
G Data CloudSecurity is compatible with internet explorer 9?. Greetings!
ritchie58
I do like the fact that with the navigation bar G-Data icon, included in the install, you have the option to disable or enable the plug-in with just a couple clicks of the mouse. So if it inadvertently blocks a legitimate web site you can temporarily disable the service easily. Alejandro I went to their web site and searched a bit (not thoroughly though) but couldn't find any info if this BHO plug-in is compatible with IE9. One way to find out is to install it and see what happens. If you decide to do this it might not be a bad idea to create a system restore point prior to installation just in case. duncan
Sounds ok, but doesn't work with firefox 4 beta or opera baracuda or chrome 10 - which are my browsers....
ritchie58
There was some talk about Immunet developing a browser toolbar a while ago but it would be great if they decided to develop their own cloud based "Browser Helper Object Plug-In" instead since I hate extra toolbars. Just a thought.

Just a thought. Hi, I think many people hate toolbars. Having many toolbars the surfing speed will be hampered & the visable window will be smaller! Firefox 3+ has extensions not showing up as toolbars. These extensions are shown as icons in the address field or not shown at all. FF3 has a useful security extension:"Link Extend". This extension works fine when doing a search without being shown as a toolbar. Regarding BHOs I´am not sure, if they hamper the surfing speed. Hi Duncan, G-Data works for IE8, Slimbrowser & FF3+. Regarding FF4, Chrome & Opera we have to wait and see! I think, that FF4 & Chrome will have it in the future. Regarding the Opera, I am a little bit doubtful, because my neighbours (the Norwegians) will always go their own way! Cheers, sweidre
duncan
There are some good extensions that work in my 3 browsers and allow single access, password protection from all 3.
