ritchie58
After so much hype and waiting, as of yesterday, Mozilla has finally released Firefox 4. Mozilla's original intention was to release Firefox 4 before Microsoft had a chance to release Internet Explorer 9. Well, they missed their mark by just a few days. However according CNET FF 4 is out doing IE 9 in total downloads since it's release. Over 4.7 million downloads for FF 4!
ritchie58
I just received an update for version 3.6.16 through the browser. Personally I'm going to wait for Mozilla to push the 4 update to me because I'm an add-on junkie, lol, and a lot of the apps wouldn't be compatible with 4 yet. Some, I'm sure, are compatible now but I bet a lot of the developers are scrambling to get their apps updated to run with 4.

Hi, I have FF 3.6.16 and was told there was already FF4 ready for download. I installed it, but found that about half of my extensions were not working. Especially the security extensions are necessary for me. So I overwrote my system drive with a fresh Norton Ghost (image), so I was back to FF3.6.16. It will take maybe a couple of months until the old extensions will work for FF4. So I will wait! ( I hope, FF4 will eventually startup faster than FF3.6.16!) Cheers, sweidre PS. I just checked a fresh list of FF extensions and found that my most important security extension: "Link Extend" should be valid up to version -4.0, so maybe soon I will have another try with FF4.
