Rob.T
Thanks to all who participated! This beta is now closed - please see http://forum.immunet.com/index.php?/topic/902-immunet-301-beta-2-available/ for the latest new Public Beta 2 ----------------- Hi everyone, the Immunet 3.0.1.5970 Public Beta is now available. The installers can be found below and will work for new installations, upgrades from prior versions from v2.0.0 to v3.0.0.18, and upgrades from licensed versions. Changes in this release include: * Updates for issues with Itunes, Netflix, Rhapsody, Thunderbird, and DirectX! * Support added for Rootkit scanning on 64bit Vista & Win7 * "Allow Definition Updates" is now broken into two separate options for Clam and Tetra. * Improved Clam engine performance, especially when scanning archived files * Passwords are no longer required to create scheduled scans * Fixed Immunet detection window sometimes appearing on startup * Various fixes to the History dialog and Summary graph * Various fixes for Retrospective restores. * Links in installer fixed. * Restoring files from Quarantine automatically adds an exclusion for them. Known bugs in this release: - Upgrading from Immunet v1.0.26 doesn't import settings correctly. Please uninstall 1.0.26 before installing 3.0.1. - Changing the "Scan Archive Files" option requires a restart before the change will take effect - Users may experience performance issues if Tetra and ClamAV are enabled at the same time. - Rootkit scan support broken on 32bit Vista and Win7 - Uninstall does not remove Windows\System32\Drivers\trufos.sys (thanks Boombastik) Reporting Issues: If you have any feedback or issues please post them back to this thread. When possible please include a Support Diagnostic Tool snapshot, a description of the problem and/or instructions to reproduce it, and any relevant screenshots. Installers: *32-bit: http://download.immunet.com/binaries/immunet/bin/protect-en-us-3.0.0.5970-beta-32.exe *64-bit: http://download.immunet.com/binaries/immunet/bin/protect-en-us-3.0.0.5970-beta-64.exe Before you install please note: - These installers may change your previously selected Immunet options and we recommend checking them after you update. - This is a beta and we recommend doing a full uninstalled before re-installing with a release version (thanks ritchie58). Woodrow
Is there any chance for the taskbar icon to change color/behaviour when disabled/disconnected in this version? Rob.T
Sorry Woodrow, that has not been implemented for this release.
Guest Orlando
Nice to hear, I noticed a beautiful thing, that the both engine (ClamAV an TETRA) now "work better" together. I have posted something on my personal computer, Orlando
Guest Mature
really long time waiting~I suggest that clam definition aim at most threats and tetra complete all historical signatures
ritchie58
I do have a question Rob. If I install the beta will an uninstall be required to update to the next publicly released build (non beta)? I've been a beta tester in the past for different vendors and that 's usually the case. You have to uninstall the beta before being able to use the final public release.

Rob.T
Hi Ritchie, at this point I don't know if it will be possible to upgrade directly from the beta to the production version. It's generally advisable to uninstall beta software before going to a production release though, the reason being that future release cycles will focus on testing major release paths rather than beta ones. For instance, suppose we have a release version path that looks like this: v1 -> b1.1 (a beta) -> v2 When v2 is released, you can expect (v1 -> v2) and (b1.1 -> v2) and (v1 -> b1.1 -> v2) to be thoroughly tested. When v3 is released, you could expect (v1 -> v3) and (v2 -> v3) and (v1 -> v2 -> v3) to be thoroughly tested, however beta release paths like (b1.1 -> v3) and (b1.1 -> v2 -> v3) may not be as thoroughly checked. chipo
Hi, I have KIS 11.0.2.556 and Immunet 3 (new beta). Sometimes, kis gives me and error on update his signatures: insufficient rigths to create u0607g.xml (kaspersky database file). When immunet service is stopped (agent.exe), this problem disappears. I have clamav engine activated. I have all kaspersky folders in exclusions (program files and documents and settings kaspersky´s folders). In kis, I have exclusions for immunet too (folders, executables, dlls and sys files) Greetings

Guest Orlando
I have told to chipo to post here that, because when they had the 3.0 stable this problem wasn't happened. Some users have problems with KIS 2011 so we have put it in incompatible programs, but not all have the same or have problems. So with this beta the probability of incompatibility can increase. viktor
In kis, I have exclusions for immunet too (folders, executables, dlls and sys files) Greetings I used KIS for almost 10 years, so, i have in-depth experience with kaspersky products and know them very well. I would never harm any program developer but the truth is truth and at this level it must speak out and it's fact. In the beginning it worked well !!! but when started to use Immunet when it was still Immunet, KIS started to quarantine Immunet detections and temp folders, all of them. Guess what the famous user friendly policy of KIS turned different, unfortunately. The problem with this behavior was that the pc SLOOOOOWED DOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWN radically (a power pc). I even had backdoors. Then i asked for refund and changed to Norton 360 and now i run IPP and N 360. If IPP would offer a complete Internet Security Suite service, I think that I would use it alone. Before I changed from KIS to N 360, i was reading the 1st and 2nd from this list: ISS review. Just to note to my choice. If you are not familiar with firewalls, choose the 1st or 2nd. Why? Because N 360 isn't stealth all ports by default. This you have to do manually and it could be tricky if you don't know which program to use for ports status detection. The N 360 is enabling File and Printer sharing. Users can disable this feature easily. Basically, you have tasks to do to secure your incoming and outgoing UDP/TCP connection. After this N 360 users will be very safe just like those who choose the 1st and 2nd program from the review list. Now, i have smaller problems with N 360, which are very rare but all can be solved easily after you familiarize yourself with the program features and where they are within the program. PS: if you put Immunet in KIS's exclusion list, unfortunately, it won't help. Besides, just take a look in the KIS's traffic monitoring module and will see that they are still taking out Immunet's files... Vik
