sweidre
Hi, Please, limit guests´ permission to read-only! Guests should not have the right to write any posts at all! This is an example only from today: Guest_adomeople_* has posted non-English spam posts on a couple of threads. Scroll down on this thread and have a look: http://forum.immunet..._4630#entry4630 Cheers, sweidre

Best regards, Anthony Hi Anthony, That was a fast blocking action, thank you! For sure, I will report, if any more guests are adding posts! ritchie58
It's for the best, I think, that non-members can no longer post because of the ongoing spam issue. However I'm kind of sad that a few bad apples had to spoil the ability for "all" non-members to post a thread. Most forums are like that though. You have to sign up or register and abide by the rules to post.

Hi Ritchie, When Anthony (adviced by me) stopped guests to write any posts, I sent a PM to dallas7 about this advising him to inform Guest_Chris to apply for membership to this Forum. Guest_Chris represents a company testing AV softwares, and is continously giving results to dallas7. I assume, that dallas7 will fix this for Chris. Maybe there are other guests (not spammers) out there, who should apply for membership to the forum. They should be met with a message and a form for applying for membership! Cheers, sweidre

ritchie58
Yes I am aware of Chris's posts and it would be a shame if we lost his input. It certainly is not that difficult to sign up to this forum to have posting privileges. Or does the forum allow one non-member or a select few who make beneficial contributions to still be able to post? To me that seems like a contradiction to the newly implemented rule. Hi Ritchie, I do not remember, do you have to install the software "Immunet Protect" prior to applying for membership into the Immunet forum? (It´s a shame, that I have already forgotten what I did last July LOL!) Anyhow, as Chris is testing many AV products including Immunet, he must already have registered Immunet Protect software. To be a member of the Immunet forum must be just a simple formality then! Cheers, sweidre
ritchie58
I can say with 100% certainty that Chris would never spam this forum but that is not the point. This rule was enacted to reduce and hopefully eliminate spam threads with possibly malicious links included. You could call that a security measure and security measures must be adhered to by everyone for it to be effective. I posted before you did Sweidre but as to your question, you don't need to have Immunet installed to post, just register.

But it doesn't take long to register, and I really hope that our guests that were contributing to the community will spend a few moments to register as members and continue to contribute. I think that it will be nice for all of us if we can keep the spam down.
