duncan
Well the funny thing is Sweidre. After a long time dealing with security issues, now that I am using linux, there sorta isn't any. Still things are changing all the time and of course basic security and privacy issues need to be achieved on any platform. Clamav is basically the only linux proprietory active anti-malware. But the malware gets dealt with by system updates and their isn't really virus/trojans/worms etc, when using linux.

sweidre
at the end of the day . It's sorta like. bye bye microsoft ... Hi duncan, Regarding future nobody can tell for sure! We can only give our personal subjective guesses. To avoid the security flaws in Microsoft's Windows OS placing the IE browser as a central part in its OS, many people have changed to Linux OS or Apple OS. The problem by not using Windows' OS is that other OS:s do not support a sufficient number of 3rd party softwares. Google intends to develop and market a new OS, but in my mind, it is too early to tell about its future. (Google has started as a search engine, developed and still develops a browser "Google Chrome" and will go further with OS.) It is strange, that Microsoft yet not have tried to develop an OS, that not places its browser as a central part thereof. What about cloud-based OS? We have now a browser war. Will we in the future get a real OS war? We have to wait and see! Competion is good, but it causes many computer users to often invest in new costly new hardwares & softwares. duncan
Regarding future nobody can tell for sure! We can only give our personal subjective guesses. thats true but the current operating systems today are win-7, linux and mac. The cloud is there, I swapped operating systems, browsers, etc > no need to lose all my photos, videos, mp3's documents, etc. it's all cloud based ...
