ritchie58
I thought of a workaround that might do the trick. I wouldn't do this for the drive that has your operating system and program files since you wouldn't want to exclude it from future scans anyway but If you are like me and use separate drives to store media (photos, music, videos), games, software installer downloads, driver backups, etc... what you could do is create a "Main Folder" for each drive. Then transfer (use the Move feature, not Copy, by right-click drag and drop method) all data on that drive. Moving all folders, sub-folders and files into the Main Folder. In the Settings then exclude that Main Folder from future scans. If you have gigabytes of data with lots of folders and/or individual files on that drive that would need to be transferred to the Main Folder then this would be a tedious and time consuming operation indeed but I bet it would work! I have no doubt that there is software designed to move data from one place to another that would simplify this procedure. To find such a program would be beneficial if this method is adopted and you have tons of stuff that would need to be moved.

Well, if there are many links to/between subfolders/files of the datadrives, all the links must be redone! Cherrs, sweidre
ritchie58
That is correct Sweidre. For instance, if any shortcuts were created to the desktop for any of the files put into the Main Folder then they would no longer work since the file path has changed. Creating new shortcuts is no big hassle however. Any association between a folder and its sub-folder(s) would remain intact if the entire folder including all sub-folders and files is moved at the same time.
